Open Horizons volunteers bring time, skill, and heart to the children and communities we serve. Whether you can give an hour a week from home or six months in the field, there is a place for you here.
Every classroom rebuilt, every scholarship placed, every child welcomed into a learning space starts with someone who chose to show up. Our volunteers translate the work of donors and partners into everyday reality: tutoring, mentoring, translating, building, and standing beside families through the hardest days.
From anywhere · 2–6 hrs / week
Support our mission online: mentor students, translate materials, run virtual workshops, contribute to research, or help our program teams remotely.
In-country · 3–6 months
Join our teams on the ground in Europe and Africa. Support classrooms, community centers, and emergency response with lodging and logistics provided.

Contribute your expertise in engineering, design, legal, medical, education, finance. Time-boxed engagements with clear deliverables and measurable impact.

Our outreach volunteers visit families household by household to find the children who never made it back to school, and to walk them through re-enrolment.
